Current Openings

Independent Contractor (Specialty with Children ages 5 to 12) opening at our 5331 Plymouth Rd or 2355 West Stadium Blvd location. Minimum of 15 direct client contact hours per week, plus paperwork as well as attendance at monthly lunch-time staff meeting. LMSW or PhD required, with full Michigan licensure. 50% of client hours must be late afternoon and evening (4 pm to 9 pm) and/or some Saturday hours. Knowledge of managed care environment a must. Required specialty in short-term treatment and parent guidance. Having an existing client caseload is not required. Start date flexible; applications will be reviewed as they are received until a suitable candidate is found.
Independent Contractor opening; Ann Arbor or Brighton locations possible. Minimum of fifteen direct client contact hours per week, plus paperwork and attendance at monthly staff meeting. LMSW or PhD required, with full Michigan licensure. Specialty in short-term evidence-based treatment required, such as CBT, DBT, IPT or other emprically-supported treatment. 50% of client hours must be provided during late afternoon/evening (4 pm to 9 pm) and/or on Saturdays. Having an existing client caseload is not required. Start date flexible; applications will be reviewed as they are received until a suitable candidate is found.

Full-Time Independent Contractor opening at our 5331 Plymouth Rd location. LMSW or PhD required, with full Michigan licensure. CBT, DBT, IPT, or other evidence-based therapy modality a necessity. Client population will be adults presenting with depressive and/or anxiety disorders. Experience working with trauma and/or EMDR Level 3 a plus but not required. Start date is flexible; applications will be reviewed as they are received until a suitable candidate is found.

Locations AACS has offices in Ann Arbor and Brighton.

Time Part-time and full-time positions are available; clinicians will have approximately 12-30 clients per week in which, ideally, 50% of available session time takes place after 4pm or on Saturday.

Compensation AACS clinicians are paid on a contractual, fee split; the fee split is based on hours worked, experience, specialties, and other factors. 

Insurance Candidates must hold individual malpractice insurance policies prior to commencing work at AACS.

We hire psychologists, social workers, counselors, and other licensed mental health professionals. You must hold current and full licensure in the State of Michigan. Psychologists with limited licenses are also invited to apply for positions at AACS.

Ideal candidates will have training, experience, and a commitment to mastery of specific evidence-based or goal-directed therapies with specific populations.  A history of meaningful, measurable change with these populations is essential.

Clinician's Role in Treatment AACS clinicians collaborate with their clients to set goals, using sessions and homework to facilitate change.  Clinicians will seek and use ongoing client feedback to modify their treatment planning as needed.  Clinicians are AACS are pragmatic and proactive.

Commitment to Professional Development It is important that a history of ongoing skill development has been established for an AACS clinician.

Practices Compatible with Managed Care Seventy per cent of our clients have some type of managed care insurance.  We seek clinicians who conceptualize treatment interventions based on practices that fit within a managed care environment.  An understanding of medical necessity, and ability to develop treatment goals based on symptom relief, and consistent use of efficient, goal-directed interventions is critical.

Efficient Practice Management AACS clinicians have a history of timely and accurate paperwork, a willingness to follow policy and procedures, and a professional, strongly ethical practice.  Additionally, establishing treatment contracts that outline client responsibilities (including payment at the time of service) is critical for ideal candidates
